Thank you for your interest in Corelli College Co-operative Academy; it is a great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you. As Principal, my aim is to ensure we provide a learning culture to enable students and staff to excel. I am unwavering in setting high expectations and consistently focus on improving outcomes for all our students. I believe in the basics of reading, writing, communicating and mathematics and relentlessly pursue excellence in punctuality, behaviour, uniform and mutual respect for one another.
At Corelli College we are uncompromising in our ambition for our students and emphasise scholastic excellence in academic and vocational work. Committed to providing exceptional opportunities for all, in a culture of the highest of expectations of, and for, our students, results continue to improve year on year. Our central aim is to enable each young person to achieve great things in whatever he or she undertakes. We pride ourselves on continuously striving to offer the highest quality teaching and learning experiences and use self-improvement to drive up standards.
We maximise success by ensuring all students are provided with rich, high quality educational opportunities, within our culture of high aspiration where achievement is recognised and celebrated. From the moment you enter the gates at Corelli College, with our beautiful sixteen acre site and state of the arts sporting facilities, you quickly realise how happy, caring and successful our students are.
Central to our strong pastoral system are the co-operative values of self-responsibility, self-help, equality, equity, democracy and solidarity. We are a community where our young people are confident, articulate, responsible, learning focused and successful.
We pride ourselves in a growing number and variety of extra-curricular activities students can access. Our musicians work with internationally renowned musicians and perform to high standards within and beyond the college. Modern Language residential visits explore the cultures and the languages of European cities, History groups visit the trenches Ypres or explore Munich with a WW2 perspective, Geographers participate in field-work in Brighton, Sports leaders train with a Paralympic gold medal winner and other athletes.
Debates and public speaking, visits to Parliament, Universities, theatres, museums and art galleries are offered to students across the age ranges. Our Farm Academy with its bees, chickens and fresh fruit and vegetables, allows students to have an experience unknown to many.
Perhaps, most importantly, we encourage all students to explore and broaden their interests and provide a secure, friendly and happy environment in which they can develop as individuals.
Whether you are considering sending your child to Corelli College Co-operative Academy, or are interested in working here, I hope you will take the opportunity to visit us and I look forward to meeting you.
